Career Pathways and Opportunities for Youth in Rural Maine
The Career Pathways and Opportunities for Youth in Rural Maine project strengthens career readiness by building sustainable Extended Learning Opportunity (ELO) programs in rural high schools across Western Maine and the Moosehead–Katahdin region. Led by the Northern Forest Center and Rural Aspirations Project through USDOL grants, the initiative connects students with local employers, hands-on learning experiences, and clear career pathways, particularly in outdoor recreation and forest products, helping rural youth explore meaningful futures in their home communities.
